I'm looking to hire someone to write a custom breeding script like Mweor or Wajas where the pets carry the markings/traits to their offspring. I will pay up to $100 for someone to write it for me. It has to be compatible with the Myadopts engine, because that's what I'm using, but any help you can give would be appreciated.

I hate to be the one to break it to you, but there's no way $100 is enough for a breeding script. The developers that I know charge about $20 an hour for their work. The ones with a lot of schooling probably charge at least twice that. Now my girlfriend and I have been working on this very same code for 3 months. We each spend 3-4 hours a day, 5 days a week working on it and we're not even half done.

We're just hobbyists.

$100 will not buy you the help you need.

umm this depends, I got an itemshop script for $250 from a very helpful scripter. XD I remember Seapyramid was charging $400 for that script before. Actually it was fine for me to pay $400 for a script like that, but Seapyramid disappeared after having made a deal with me. This got me mad, and I am just glad I hadnt paid Seapyramid yet. Its annoying when someone does this to you when a deal is already made...

I think the main problem here is compatibility with myadopts.com, making such a script may be even harder than an itemshop then...

Oh, no, I'm just using the engine, I have it set up on my own host.

Yes, $250 isn't bad for an itemshop. That's 1-2 days worth of work for a skilled coder and its not a terribly long script. However, when dealing with genes that can be any colour, then producing a completely new image from many layers of two different pets that saves and displays itself... the layers, the time... It is a very complex code and its probably going to cost you a pretty penny (I speak from experience). If you're curious you can probably go to Khimeros (http://www.khimeros.com/) and ask Onyx how much it cost her to have Nas code her breeding script. If she's not too busy it can help you get a ballpark estimate on how much you should expect to save for a developer.

Umm its even possible to use myadopts engine on a private host? Interesting.

No, I think turkey is confusing myadopts with the rusnak php adoptables script.

Well I will see if a scripter will take on a customized breeding script for about $200 - $300 around christmas time. For now there are too many things for me to do, life, school, research, forum, site layout/template and other projects. There should be a possibility for inter-species breeding too, which will make the script a lot more costly than just $100.
