Any recommends on using what to buy/register a domain?

BMR777, what did you use to buy freemybb.com?

*From what I see, 1and1 is the cheapest among all I suppose, but there isn't unlimiteed sub-domains, which means we cannot exxceed its limit.. Quite stucked here..

Oceanlove, you can use 1and1. That's what I use for freemybb.com. If you use the domain with your own DNS then you can have unlimited subdomains, they only meter it if you use 1and1's DNS / domain forwarding. :)

I see.. Cool! 1and1 is cheaper =P

So what do you think about GoDaddy and 1and1? Which one is better? By the way, how to create our own nameservers?

Oh ya, what service did you use for your webhosting??

In my opinion, 1and1 is better than GoDaddy. If you want custom nameservers for your account many reseller hosts allow this, so you can have ns1.yourdomain.com and ns2.yourdomain.com. Any host will support using their nameservers though for the domain.

Then what If I wish to just use my own nameserver, how should I do so if I'm just hosting a website, not reseller?

If you have a host that is providing hosting for you then you can use their nameservers they provide to you so you can use your domain with their hosting.

Then you mean unless we have our own resellers, we can't have our own nameservers?

BMR777

Well, if you want your nameservers to appear to be from your own domain then yes, I think that is the only way to have it, unless you contact your host ahead and have this done. But for just using the domain you can use the host's nameservers. There is no need for custom nameservers.

Then how to have it??

Why do you need custom nameservers anyway? No one will see them. :)
