Need critique: Which outline shading is best?

A mixture of scaly and smooth surface, because I was lazy. Made in paint.
Which one is better, number 1, 2, 3 , or 4?

The outlines are different.
Numero 1= All one color but not black
Numero 2= Numero 1 but shaded outline
Numero 3= Numero 1 but half is black
Numero 4= All black

I voted for one because it just fits better than the others.... I would have voted for 2 but the bottom shaded outline is a tad too dark me thinks xD
