Make adoptable untradeable?

i found a thread that talks about this (here (http://www.mysidiaadoptables.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4715)), but i couldn't find any code that hinted towards how an item is made untradeable in the trade.php, class_trade, or class_tradevalidator.

what i want is a way to make an adoptable unable to be put in the pound or traded away. admincp integration is nice, but not needed.

I assumed this was possible already. In the adminCP there are 2 places for this; in "change trade settings" and "pound settings" there is a field for ineligible species, which should prevent all adoptables of that species from being traded or put in the pound.
