Ah. That worked but step2 doesn't happen. It gives no code to copy/paste. A new button appeared called "create tables"

Well, yes, that's why you entered data. It needs to do that?

I went back and updated the first post with more detailed instructions that now include each and every variety of next button that exists. I was originally only really giving instructions on what to do when it was different than what was asked of you by the instructions the installer was already giving you, or if there was more than one choice you could have made. I hope it's better now.

As a note to everyone else, I updated the instructions to now install in class_template.php. Do not try to install this on individual pages. Do not. That's not what it's for. I put it in menu, assuming everyone would be using the menu, and it would show up on every page the menu did. That is, all of them. But it works just as well class_template.php, which I was not familiar with at the time of making the tutorial originally.

If you're having errors during installation make sure your documents are both saved and uploaded and live on the server with all changes asked for.

If you're having log in/log out issues, I really can't help with that, because it's working as intended? It's on when you sign into your site. It's off when you sign out of the site. You can manually go into offline mode. When you switch pages you are, indeed, still in offline mode. Any other behavior outside of this normal behavior I cannot help with. Reinstall carefully, that's all I can suggest. Please understand, I did not make Freichat.

The updated instructions work much better than previously stated.

Using the code in class_menu caused errors when creating a new theme for the chat. It refused to alter certain sections via colour or whatever you chose to do.

Installing into class_template is far better and means all new themes made by you will work perfectly.

I had to reinstall this to my new version of the site after I lost the old site. I can't seem to get step 3 onwards to work. The example iframe doesn't show the chat, just a regular version of my site.

I'm sorry, but I don't know how to help. :hmmm:

I've managed to fix it. Strangely I have to do step 5 before it will show FreiChat but yeah. If anyone else has the same issue, hopefully that will help fix it. <3

How do I run the installation?? It's just a .php file, all I can do is edit it..

Kyttias 02-16-2016 02:27 PM

Upload it, then visit the url I mentioned in the instructions (should be yoursite.com/freichat/installation/index.php). You installed Mysidia with a php file like this, and how you install forum software as well.

Edit; Fixed it.
