Login Issue

I tried to update my site today and everything seemed to work fine however when I go to login, it won't let me. So I thought I updated wrong. So I did a fresh instal but I still get the same problem. I go to click the login button and I get a 404 error page doesn't exist. Can someone help me please.

umm this... Are you using x10hosting?

Cremuex Levier 04-29-2013 09:20 AM

I'm having the same problem but I thought maybe I mistyped when I submitted it so I was going to wait a month and do it again.

But yeah, I'm having the same problem and I'm using x10hosting, know anything that might help/explain what's going on Hall of Famer?

Well open your .htaccess file in your adoptables directory. Is it empty? If so, copy/paste the content from the script's .htaccess to this empty file. I have no idea why this is happening, does x10hosting block the uploading process of .htaccess file somehow?

I'm using Dreamhost, and I never had this problem with version 1.3.2. I transfer all the files over, and the main page works. Then I go to login, press login, and it takes me to this link: http://ellaia2.thekodesigns.net/login

From there if I try to change it to http://ellaia2.thekodesigns.net/login.php it says the page does not exist, though that part seems to have changed.

The exact message I get when I go to login is: |
The webpage at http://ellaia2.thekodesigns.net/login has resulted in too many redirects. Clearing your cookies for this site or allowing third-party cookies may fix the problem. If not, it is possibly a server configuration issue and not a problem with your computer.

I cleared my cookies but that doesn't seem to be the issue.

It shouldn't block it, because it's worked previously...

I went through and added the original download's .htaccess files to the appropriate directories because I didn't know where the adopt directory would be unless you mean public or something...

They weren't in the files but for some reason when I added them it said that it was saving over them so I'm not really sure...

After doing what you suggested Hall of Famer I get this error now "Could not connect to database, the following error has occurred:
SQLSTATE[HY000] [2003] Can't connect to MySQL server on 'DBHOST' (110)"

:I I'm willing to just draw items, NPCs and pets until the next update comes out though so I'm not really in a rush... It's interesting that this is happening to x10hosting AND Dreamhost though...

Your database info is incorrect or empty. Check your config.php file and see if the credentials are entered properly.

Yuki Night 04-29-2013 03:53 PM

My database info is correct, and it isn't empty. Everything is there that should be.

Hall of Famer 04-30-2013 05:44 AM

Sorry I was referring to Cremeux Levier, who clearly had specified the wrong DB information.

For you, I am not quite sure why url rewrite aint working properly. Are you sure Mod_Rewrite is enabled on your host? Its weird to see knownhost having this problem, but if Mod_Rewrite is turned off you can always ask them to enable it. They usually do it for you.

Yuki Night 04-30-2013 11:19 AM

I have Mod_Rewrite abilities.
