I'm so glad I found this community

I am a 2D artist and building a virtual pet site is one of my dream projects. I have been planning refining and working on artwork for it for 2 years. I had a friend working with me programming the site for the first year. He was doing an awesome job, though we were having a few hiccups here and there, but we worked together really well. We had to stop working together because of "romantic entanglement" We had dated before working on this project and I thought we would be ok working together since we had broken up a year before we started to work together. Unfortunately he was not ok, he thought he would be ok too, but he wasn't so we had to end things together as completely as possible, since we also work in the same field professionally that is kind of hard.

Anyway, building this virtual pet site is still my dream but I am hesitant to work on it with anyone. I'm afraid that whoever I work with will not be as committed to the project or want to stay true to my vision. I also don't want it to cause problems with my relationships which is why my current boyfriend and I have promised not to work with each other on games except at game jams because we don't want to strain our relationship and if we ever broke up it would be hard to continue things we started together.

That is why finding mysidiaadoptables has given me a spark of hope that maybe I can still do this. I am not a programmer, and I wouldn't even know were to start, but I have hope that this framework will be a good jumping off point, and maybe I can get this project back on track. (I imagine I will be asking this community and my boyfriend lots of questions) Although in the long run I know I cannot do it on my own, maybe I can attract a potential partner who will weather the storm with me in mutual camaraderie and shared vision.

Welcome Sharky!

When I first started using the mysidia script, I only knew basic HTML & CSS but with some determination and lots of experimenting I began to find my way around the code and have even created some little mods for the community. So I know you can definitely do it!
