[v1.3.4] Bookstore Theme

1 Attachment(s)
Hi, I adapted this theme quickly from an already made theme - so I didn't make it per say. But I thought perhaps it would be useful for people. Since this doesn't take me very long, I thought it would help people if we had a greater variety of ready-made themes, I'll probably do this with a few other themes.

The files are in the zip attachment below. Put the bookstore folder into your templates, but remove or copy the menu1.css and pagination.css. You need to put these files into your /css folder in your main directory. You will also need to go into your css/tabs.css file and delete the line "#page-wrap { width: 640px; margin: 30px;}" that will be near the top. After that, go to your ACP (not your phpadmin) and change your default theme.

This theme supports the drop down menu, and there is a content box in the header there. You can fill that box in with whatever you want, it's in the template.tpl file. Here's a preview below;

I've been practicing adapting themes to be Mysidia-functional lately, and I think this is a brilliant idea! A lot of users have trouble getting themes simply because it is difficult, on some level, to alter a pre-made theme for use with Mysidia.

You've done an excellent job with the book store theme!

The only problem I've been having is altering the shout box so it doesn't clash so terribly with darker themes.

Looks interesting, is there a preview of the theme? Something like a screenshot?

Thank you both! Ah, Abronsyth, I didn't think to check the shout box, I don't use mine. D: Darn, I'll change the first post.

HoF, there is a preview in the first post, it might just not be loading on your iPhone. I don't have a live one I'm afraid, but I did embed a screenshot.

i have a problem with this theme, i uploaded it to then ftp, and followed all the instructions but its not in the themes section, and when i go to install a new theme it has boxes am i supposed to copy something?

No, nothing goes in the text areas. And if you don't check the box saying the files are already uploaded, it will replace the files with what was in the text areas - nothing. So then you'll have to reupload the entire thing again, because you replaced the files with nothing. Always make sure the box is checked when uploading a theme. The text areas are there for making your own theme, not for using an already uploaded one.

I got that but there are two problems that i ran into.

1: The box with the text is to the left so it looks weird. like the text is slightly out of the box
2: When i gp to my account page the words are white and the background is white..any fixes?

I didn't make this theme, but, try modifying the css. You should be able to right click when viewing a page to inspect an element, then, from the viewer that pops up, you can see where in the css things are being styled so you can seek it out and change it. :usedusedused:
