Level up every 12 hours?
 

How can I change it so that adopts can be leveled up every 12 hours instead of 24?

Well the best way to accomplish this is to use cronjob. A mark will be placed on your adoptables once it is clicked, and it is removed after 12 hours. If you have PHP 5.3.x, then congratulations, you can manipulate date calculation functions such as "date add", which makes your life much easier. It is recommended only for advanced users with at least VPS hosting package.

I know the kitto script used them to check if the pets were hungry or not, you can look and see how that works and try and adapt it for pets levels.
