000Webhost Questions - And a few other things...

Okay, the 000webhost questions:

Everytime I try and upload files, Filezilla tells me this:
Reconnecting to server...
Trying to reconnect in 5 seconds
Error: Connection to server lost...
I tried using the file server 000Webhost has, and it still did this, only firefox told me that.

What goes into the port box?
In Filezilla, when you tell it to connect to a server, there is a little box that says "Port" on it. What do I fill in there? I'm confused...
The port box already has "14147" in it. Do I leave it there?

And now, my other questions:

How do I add pets into MAS after I upload it?
Speaks for itself...I know nothing about even basic PHP programming...:littlecfrown:

These are all the questions I have for now. I daresay I'll have more as I progress through this...

Someone please help!!! D:

Never tried using Filezilla, but I'm under the impression that 000webhost is having connection problems. I've never had a good experience with them.

From what I saw about installation from the other guide, you leave the port area empty.

When adding pets into the MAS, first set up your website.
Then, in your admin account, click the link that says ADMIN CENTER.
From there, you'll see an option to CHANGE ADOPTABLES on the top navigation bar. Click that. First, you'll want you upload your pet's images, so click UPLOAD A NEW ADOPTABLE IMAGE. Then, when you've uploaded all the pet's level images, click ADD A NEW ADOPTABLE.

Follow the instructions on the next screen. Once finished, there should be an option to add levels for them to change based on the number of click they've received.

Hope that helps. c:

I've never heard anything good about that hosting company. But some advice I give to anyone starting an adopts site... If you are serious about creating it, then you need paid hosting. I can't emphasize that enough. I recommend Hawk Host.

Thank you, I may try and look for another web hoster...

Ah, yeah, that's the problem. I'm not allowed to get paid hosting. (Yes, I'm under 18/21.):el: My parents said I can get paid hosting when I become a legal adult, (3 more years, oh goodie) so I'd just like to 'experiment' now, and see how well I manage with an adoptable site, and maybe a forum to, if my friend excepts my offer to make him a forum for his organization...

There are lots of free hosting sites.

I'm assuming another commonly used freehosting website is x10hosting since there's a separate tutorial for it completely on installing the mysidia script.

I'm fairly certain you could just go find another host and run the mysidia script perfectly fine. c:

Okay then, I'm gonna try x10Webhost. :usedusedused:

I've never used it, so I can't say how good they'll be.
But, they'll probably be MUCH MUCH MUCH better than 000webhost. :T

I currently like how X10 looks, and it seems to be pretty good.
I'm only having a problem with the actual installation of MAS.
I followed the tutorial for installing it, but now I have a problem with it when I try to actually view it.

Hmmmmm.
Can you show me a picture of the directory?

EDIT.

You dragged the installation folder into your public_html instead of just the files. Lol.
Shouldn't be an issue though. c:

sign up at my host then pm me and i'll have your site up, I have no class tomorrow. We offer free but with a banner ad at the bottom of the page. You can then order a higher package to remove the ads and right now we have a fiverr deal 5$ for lifetime hosting. http://fiverr.com/nemesis51/host-you...for-a-lifetime

If you don't want to go through fiverr then simply send me 5$ for it :)
