Creating my own?

Is there any basic guide how to start?
I mean, i know HTML/CSS but for now thins are quite confusing.
Which file does what? What .css to edit to change the layout?

^^:veeee:

You'll want to edit the style.css file. What you can also do is save over the old images to just quickly add your new ones in :meow:

Hm, okay. No fast way.
Anyways, thank you :D

Also look at the template.html file.

Well, for now i wrote down all the commands used in the SIMPLE template and writing a new layout from scratch ^^ Thank you for your help guys.

EDIT:
If it works out well I will offer some free to use layouts wich don't look as unprofessional as the ones do now ^^

I'd suggest you contact Enddayne directly yourself, she's by far the best theme maker here and can tell you a lot on how to create styles for an adoptable site.

The only codes I know of that you'll need are the following:

Code:

<title>:BROWSERTITLE:</title>
<link rel="stylesheet" href="templates/themename/stylesheet/link.css" type="text/css" />
:ARTICLETITLE: - for page titles
:ARTICLECONTENT: - for page content
:ARTICLEDATE: - if you want to display dates
:LINKSBAR: - horizontal link menu (holds admin links in admin panel)
:SIDEFEED: - vertical/semantic link menu

Everything else is really up to customization. If you look at my site (Familiar Elements) you can see a bit of what I've done for themes.

Otherwise it's just regular coding.
