*squees at foxes*
Fennecs too?

Ruinily 04-12-2013 01:41 PM

Ooo what about other canids that look like foxes? Like the maned wolf?

http://media-1.web.britannica.com/eb...4-1CB47046.jpg

Or the Ethiopian wolf? (Which is also called a fox...)

http://www.birdquest-tours.com/galle...3%A1h-1222.jpg

Um, theres also the thylacine, which is probably my favourite extinct animal... (Darn those Australian farmers and the goverment!) It doesnt look like a fox, but its the largest most canine like rodent I know of. XD I saw a video of them once, I couldnt believe they were closer related to bunnies and rats than dogs... Anyway thats a real curveball if you want something similar to canids but very different. XD

Just throwing thoughts around, feel free to ignore them. :P

Ruinily 05-29-2013 07:09 PM

So... did you settle on a species lol? Maybe you should just combine them all. :P

Abronsyth 06-05-2013 02:39 PM

Late reply but yes I finally settled on a species- ferrets! Updated the main thread, heck, I even included the first adoptable spoiler!

Tequila 06-05-2013 04:27 PM

Ooh... If I join and get a white ferret and it is male, it shall be named "Malfoy" or "Draco"...
Points if you get the reference...

Clessidra 06-05-2013 04:28 PM

As someone who owns a ferret;
WPOETJEOPGFJROPG WANT WANT WANT WANT WANT WANT WANT WANT :catfish:

I want my own crayola ferret QnQ
I'm so looking forward to this, and the adoptable is so cute!

Ruinily 06-06-2013 04:10 PM

Wow that was a random change. o.o' But ferrets are popular. ^_^ We have a guy that walks past sometimes with one on a lead...

Abronsyth 06-06-2013 06:22 PM

Came up with a new style...my typical ferret doodling style XD I asked some local experts (my little sister and mom) and they said that they like the cute fuzzy doodle style more than the others :)

I'll post some examples very soon! Also I officially bought to domain FerrePets.com to use :D

Tequila, haha, I get the reference ;D

This IS happening, just so y'all are certain! So...now I need some opinions! For the theme I'd like to go with either orange, blue, or green...? What do you guys think would be best..? Or should I make one theme and offer it in several different colors?

Clessidra 06-08-2013 11:12 AM

Orange is best color :usedusedused:
One theme with the option to change what color it is in would be cool :meow:

Abronsyth 06-08-2013 05:56 PM

Going with purple for the default theme for now...but I'll add different color options as well :)

You guys can check out the site's progress at FerrePets.com!

Tequila 06-11-2013 08:39 AM

Purple theme... ♥(ˆ⌣ˆԅ)!

I like the doodle you have in the first post of this topic! If they are all as cute as that I'm sure you'll get plenty of members. ;3

Abronsyth 06-11-2013 09:13 AM

Nevermind, I tried out the color based themes and decided I just like the current one so much more XD

Anyways, here's some official adoptable spoilers...two level 3 bases :)

Update time~!

Thanks to Pachoo we now have a stunning new theme!

And I've also made bases for levels 1 through 3, just have to finish an egg base and I can start designing adoptables! I've also finished one item, FerreFood!

Ooo that is a nice looking site. o.o Although my site goes with a nebula theme by default I always loved the more nature based themes. <3 I think I'll do a bit more lurking and sign up in a bit. XD

Want me to add a banner to have you as an affiliate to my site? :3 Or not, I dont mind either way...

Abronsyth 06-27-2013 07:13 AM

Ah, I love the Felkyo theme, but I'm a sucker for natural, earth tone sort of themes as well. Hehe, I'll be glad when you do!

Not quite ready to affiliate with anyone at this point, but I'll be making a banner and an Affiliate section when we are :)

Thanks,
Abronsyth

Hey guys, guess what! FerrePets is still a thing, and is currently being redone!

The artwork will still be "cute" in style (because that was one of the biggest aspects people were loving and I love drawing chubby ferrets) but it will be done in a more realistic style, also a more typical pet-site style.

Be on the look out for adoptable and item sketches!

Abronsyth 11-23-2013 04:50 PM

Updated the first post :)

Abronsyth 11-25-2013 03:52 PM

I've decided, after much debate, that I would like to switch FerrePets over to a fantasy theme...fantastical ferrets!

I'll go more into depth later, but just know that FerrePets will be a Sci-Fi Ferret Adopts Site aimed at users ages 13 and up.

Ruinily 11-26-2013 11:51 AM

o.o This I want to see.

Abronsyth 11-26-2013 05:01 PM

Here's what I came up with after a bit of boredom...still needs to be organized better.
Quote:

In the 23rd Century the country of Germany became over run with vermin; Norwegian Rats (Rattus norvegicus). The country was, at the time, in a dire state of poverty. The economy had collapsed, and already millions of people were without income or a means to provide food and shelter for their families. However, once the rat population boomed, a massive food shortage occurred. The pests had gone through most of the crops and stored goods available at the time, and the people were left to starve. As if that weren't enough, the filthy conditions and presence of the flea-ridden rodents soon started a whole new kind of plague, similar to the Black Plague of ancient times. Hundreds of thousands of people were killed.

It became apparent that something needed to be done about the rat problem before the country could be brought back to its feet. Poison had been the first method, but the quickly reproducing rats started adapting against it, and soon chemical warfare became useless. Then came the dogs, and, much like the poison, the rats simply adapted. They could fit into small, tight places that no canine could ever hope to fit into to. In an act of desperation, the people tued to a small time genetic engineer named Phillip Daukur.

Daukur received the funding he needed for a mystery project, and announced that he would have the solution within five years. Holding true to his word, half a decade passed and the solution was unveiled; genetic splices called EvoFerrets. The first EvoFerrets, Gen 1 (F0), were about twice the size of an average ferret, but still able to fit into the small spaces that rats managed to hide in. With increased intelligence and an ability to adapt and lea, the EvoFerrets proved to be an effective solution.

Since then the EvoFerret project has been spread from Germany to the rest of Europe, and continues to follow the growing rat population to the Americas, Asia, Africa, and even Australia. Due to the careful selection of preferred traits, the mutated ferrets developed into a variety of unnatural colors and pattes. In order to introduce greater intelligence as the rats adapted, a bio-genetic engineer named Paul Guardo introduced parrot genes, which resulted in Gen 2 EvoFerrets.

Many experiments since have resulted in a wide variety of EvoFerrets, and they have become popular household pets, much alike cats and dogs, to keep down on the rats. They're also fairly friendly when hand raised from hatchlings, and all have an incredible ability to lea spoken commands, or gestures. Gen 2.2 EvoFerrets (the Raven Project) are even capable of mimicking speech, making them very popular pets.

Due to the massive need for more trained EvoFerrets, and the time it takes to raise, tame, and train these creatures it has become necessary to allow civilians such as yourself to collect, raise, and breed your very own EvoFerrets to compete with the continuously growing rat population.
Again, not organized but just some random ideas floating around.

That is a pretty nice story o.o Got me interested, I will be sure to keep an eye on this thread for updates

Abronsyth 11-27-2013 08:48 AM

Glad you like it :D

I've been working on some concept sketches for different Gens, and once I have some I'm satisfied with I'll put them up ;)

Abronsyth 12-08-2013 04:34 PM

So I've been dancing between foxes and ferrets for a while, because I love both (my very first site was a fox site and I just adore ferrets) and then I realized it made a lot of sense to simply combine the two and create several breeds of ferret/fox splices! All variations will be based on different fox species (artic, fennec, grey, red, etc)!

Will post sketches eventually!

I love the idea of a fennec ferret! Combine two of my favorite critters for the win!

Whoo! First preview!

Abronsyth 12-27-2013 03:26 PM

Okay, finalized art style- first official adoptable spoiler!!! Feedback?
http://ferrepets.com/picuploads/png/...1877d04e5a.png

Edit;
Whoopee! Finished the bases! I'm still not sure if I'm going to include different breeds or not...the bases were easy and turned out well, so I very well may add 3 or 4 different breeds.

SO CUTE OH MY GOSH ;O;!

Maybe you could include other ferre-canines? *o* I have a friend who ran a chimera pet site once ;u; She made a "Hyerret" as one of the many chimeras. Maybe you could make one also sometime ;u;?

Abronsyth 12-29-2013 09:19 AM

Thank you!

I'd rather keep it to foxes for now, due to their size and general build being closer to a ferret's than any other canine. Plus they've been domesticated in Russia, so it makes more sense that the result is very people-friendly than it would if I used non-domesticated animals. I do appreciate the suggestion, but I'd like to keep the pets more "pure" if that makes sense :)

Hwona 01-02-2014 10:51 AM

Wow - the art's amazing! :D

Abronsyth 01-02-2014 01:49 PM

Thank you! I'm glad you like it <3

Abronsyth 02-01-2014 02:50 PM
