Weird Question
Not sure where to put this...
I was wondering... if I could have permission to use this script for my Pokemon trading/breeding site. Since it's a free code I'm guessing the answer would be yes, but I want to be absolutely sure. It's a non-profit site where all I really want to do is put up what Pokemon I have up for breeding and trading on my BW version and allow people to trade me their in-game items/Pokemon for my services. However, I want the Pokemon that are up for trade to be findable and adoptable and the person who finds it gets it for any fodder Pokemon, rather than the trade fee I have set. That's where I need the adoptable site script. I was actually planning to use the ancient version that I had for this, but then I stumbled upon this forum and found the updated version. I'd feel better knowing for certain that I may before I do anything. Of course, I also plan to use this for my own actual adoptable site, but that isn't until later. |
The Mysidia script may be used for anything really as long as the credit is left up. If you're worried about the legality of creating a Pokemon site, you should contact the owners of Pokemon. But no there is really no discretion as to what the script can be used for. We may not allow you to advertise an adoptable-porn site but if that's how you want to use it well, it's not up to us. ^.^

Actually Hall of Famer is using mysidia base for his own Pokemon site. So nah, we don't care.. ^.^

I lol'd at the thought of an x-rated adoptables site. And thinking about it now made me lol again... :bucktard:

Well make sure to give credits if you use custom scripts from any coders here, or custom graphics from artists. If you run into copyrights issue with pokemon-related materials, you may be sued by Nintendo but its not really Mys' business.

Should probably have its own thread but...
How exactly do you get away with using other peoples work, I mean a lot of people do use pokemon for their sites. (I'm going to be using chao/sonic characters/ sega stuff) so its perfectly legal to use such work as long as you give credit? |
umm I dont think so, some may not allow you to use their sprites even if you give credits. This happens for a tile designer of my pokemon fangame, in which it was specified for my game only and other fangames could not use it even if credits were given. Violation of copyrights may get you into trouble, depending on the instances.

They usually won't ever go after you unless your making a huge profit off of their creations.
May it be through ads, "premium credits", etc doesn't matter. The real thing that gets most projects into copyright trouble is that when they start making money off of it the company starts to take notice. I've seen this happen to quite a few projects. |
