Changed Domain

I just changed my domain name and my adopts folder was in a subfolder called SilvAdopts but I want to move it into the root directory... is this going to mess up my site? Should I change any of the files to correctly work with it?

This can be tricky, id suggest keeping your other site working untill your for sure everythign works on the other. Though that can cause some data loss to your members. I don't know off hands what files you'll need to change, prolly config but yes the script upon installation asked you for the domain and sub directory so where ever it used that information thats where you will need to change it. One way would be to go through each file and search for the old domain and over right it with the new one. back up your site case nothing else works, and wait for a devs response mines probably not too good but i tried lol.

The only problem that I could of thought of when moving from a sub folder to the root is in the DB the links to the images would of been messed up.

You didnt have to make any changes their when you moved?

Actually I did =/ Had to change the address in the DB but other than that no big changes

yea, that has got to be a pain if their is a lot of adoptable.

If you have anything linked that uses the old domain name you can use ReplaceText to edit your code quickly.
