small (probably) stupid question

Hi, I'm a little new to coding and such :)

how does one go about creating a backup (of one's site)? Like is there a method apart from me saving my original text in a word file? (because I think I'm going to get lost in a maze of files...)

I've searched through most of the forums for an answer... but if this has been answered already sorry ^^;

You mean to create a backup of your database or site content? If the former is true, just download the .sql backup file from PHPMyadmin. Otherwise just download copies of your script files to your local drive.

oops I meant to reply a long time ago but I think it slipped my mind.

I've just seen a lot of the mods in the forums telling people to back up their site before they applied the mod. So It's the site content I think that I'm talking about.

thanks for the help :)

You are very welcome, and yes its important to backup your site before applying a Modification on your site.
