Limit Adoptions

I have one adoptable on my site I want to limit to two per user. Is it possible to do that?

i want to suggest something..

they can only have up to 10 eggs for example, and they can adopt more egg when some of their previous ones have hatched.

like in unicreatures..

This could be done by checking the id of the adoptable with the current adoptables the user has and if any match then limit it by number. If it exceeds the number then error if not then continue :O

Simple mySQL, I just... Dont know the codes or sql tables ^^
