Ok, I officially have no idea what I am doing at all. :(

I want to upgrade my site. I downloaded the new version of the script, put it on my FTP...I think...idk

Can anyone help me? I am getting distressed over this. I totally have no idea what to do at all. T_T

RE: Upgrade help

I'm assuming you have been using the Easy Adoptables script previously correct?

Well, you need to take off the new script, and use this:

http://www.rusnakweb.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=1034

To help you upgrade.

Follow the steps on that thread, and everything will work.

No work involved but a few clicks.

RE: Upgrade help

1. You need to get both the old and new installs on the same database somehow. I recommend if they are not already on the same database that you import the "users", "owned_adoptables", "adoptables" and "adoptable_rankimages" tables from your old installation onto your database where the new version is installed.

That is what I do not understand.

RE: Upgrade help

Basically, remember when you installed the old version, the one you are currently using, and you created a new database inside of your CPanel or host's control panel? Then remember how you opened config.php and entered in those details into the file and uploaded it to your website?

Basically what that Step 1 means is that when you install the new version of the Rusnak PHP Adoptables script you DO NOT make a new database, instead you can re-use the same database and database info you entered into config.php. When you install the new version of the Adoptables Script on the database you already made for the old version, then both versions will share a database, which is really all that Step 1 really means, the two scripts should share the same database. :)
