Please do not do three posts right one after another. It is considered good manners to just put all of the info into the first post. :3

First off, no, the email is sent from the admin's email - which is you, so it's not a glitch. Secondly, spaces shouldn't be an issue. If you think it might be that, go into the phpmyadmin in your host, find the "prefix"_users area and change the username there.

First question - are you using the script version 1.3.0? If no, then you didn't encode it.

If yes, then...

Second question - are you writing your username EXACTLY as you wrote it when you signed up? Including caps? Because Hi and hi would be two different usernames on the site - it needs to include caps.

If yes, then...

Do you have any other accounts on your site? If not, try making another one (test account) and trying to log in. If you can log into that one, but not your admin one, then chances are I don't know what the issue is and there is probably a glitch in the password-recovery script.

If you /can't/ log into the second account, then it's probably the user glitch a few people have reported with other users not being able to login. I haven't heard of it happening to the admin user though.
