Adoptable ID 0

Whenever I go to a member's profile, I get:

Adoptable ID 0 does not exist or does not belong to the owner specified...

I think the problem is with the adoptables tab, since a user doesn't have any when they sign up. I don't exactly know what to do in those cases since isn't the ID 0 by default if there isn't a pet?
