Manual Password Change

Hi, I've been trying to manually change passwords for users by going to
admincp --> users --> edit --> change password.

However, the new password that I change the current password to cannot be used to login (Sorry, we could not log you on with the details specified. You can try again or request a password reset.) , and so I was wondering if I was doing something wrong.
