High CPU usage
Is there ever a time when the script goes hay wire and uses all the cpu? I have a client who's site was suspended due to high cpu usage. The server admin said it was affecting everyone's sites, as I did have some pm's on sites being down, and he went ahead and suspended it. Not a problem as I can reinstate it, but don't want it to happen again. History has a few hundred of these "Updating disk usage in my sql"
I currently have 42 clients sign ups/emails and 25 sites right now remain active. No other sites having these issues as i have been checking the logs. And I am no where near over capacity on this server. so why did this one site use up all resources a few 100 times in a day? And what should I do reinstall the script?

This was the site I was working on and have no idea why it would do that. I work on my own site a million times a day and have never had this issue.

Could it be caused by heavy use of GD image library?
I know if you use large images in my custom pet mod that it will slowdown, and take a while to display the preview then the final adopt. How much CPU time it is taking I dont know. I am unsure how to test it on a local server. |

site is re activated I am gonna see if i can get to the bottom of this. Only thing i can think of is a bunch of people on at same time adopting a lot and leveling each others a lot.

It very well could be the signature images. I had my server hanging for a while, so I took out most of the code on the siggy.php file to only leave the part where it actually checks the id and displays the image... it never hung after that.
Try that, if you're risky and wanna try it. XD |

I'm also fairly positive it's siggy.php. Also, check your site's vote_voters table in the database. Any records that are over 24 hours old can probably be safely deleted and a lot of records here could cause slowdowns as every time someone clicks a pet it has to check this table, so more than 50,000 records here indicates this may be a source of slowness.
