Default Phpadoptables and Joomla integration

As I said in another post, I like the idea of the adoptables script, I'm also stuck on that "real pet" thing and I've been looking for a solution that can integrate Brandon's script with a modular CMS such as Joomla which could allow linking to users image galleries and huge customization.

Anyone here a Joomla 1.5.10 geek? (I'm not). Anyone interested in integrating the pet script with Joomla natively, not using the iframe wrappers?
I would say that even a bridge between the two using joomla's login for both would be great.

The simple start would be to integrate the easyadoptables with joomla by using the same users table.

The real good initiative would be to offer the option of bridging the newer phpadoptables script with joomla's users, groups, using same table extensions right from the beginning of script instalation.
In other words, this could turn the php adoptables script into a Joomla module/component.

Interested to get into the Joomla world, Brandon? I guess this would be so easy for you, who knows the adoptables script from the inside!

I believe Seapyramid hosts her site using Joomla, so that'd be the person to speak to. She's done a great job integrating it. :]

Aye.. Look at http://www.mysticgrove.net it is an adoptables site that works with joomla.. Also my Pets Galore site at http://www.petsgalorespa.net is a HUGE Joomla site.

I have not yet intregated the adoptables members into the joomla forum so they have to register seperately for each.. I do plan however of making that change at some point

Correction*** I have now found a method for complete intergation of Joomla with the php adoptables script. I am current working on it on my test server. I have the registration working correctly, now I just need to set up all the other pages to look to the right database. However, taking this live is going to be quite difficult with an existing site! Setting this up for a NEW site will be relatively easy! If you are interested PM me. I should have all the info in a few days.

Now keep in mind.. by relatively easy... I still mean good knowledge of HTML and at least basic knowledge of PHP & MYSQL.

First of all congrats for your great sites, they are just wonderful! I'll PM you about the progress of this project, if you plan to take it further.
I'm sorry I forgot to subscribe to my own post so I'm answering so late... I don't think you used the wrapping module to embed your adoptables, did you succeed to create a native module to integrate? Ok, talk to you soon. Once again, good job, don't give up!

I have answered your pm & no.. the php adoptables is NOT in a joomla wrapper, though not a fully intregrated component either. You will be surprised how I got them to blend. However it is a fully intregation I am working towards at the moment.

Just an update. The cookies used in Joomla and PHPadoptables are not really compatable. I have not made it a full component at this time. I am currently working on a bridge plugin using JFusion component but I have not been able to finalize that plugin. Once it is finalized i will make it available.
