Ah, I love the Felkyo theme, but I'm a sucker for natural, earth tone sort of themes as well. Hehe, I'll be glad when you do!

Not quite ready to affiliate with anyone at this point, but I'll be making a banner and an Affiliate section when we are :)

Thanks,
Abronsyth

Hey guys, guess what! FerrePets is still a thing, and is currently being redone!

The artwork will still be "cute" in style (because that was one of the biggest aspects people were loving and I love drawing chubby ferrets) but it will be done in a more realistic style, also a more typical pet-site style.

Be on the look out for adoptable and item sketches!

I've decided, after much debate, that I would like to switch FerrePets over to a fantasy theme...fantastical ferrets!

I'll go more into depth later, but just know that FerrePets will be a Sci-Fi Ferret Adopts Site aimed at users ages 13 and up.

Here's what I came up with after a bit of boredom...still needs to be organized better.
Quote:
In the 23rd Century the country of Germany became over run with vermin; Norwegian Rats (Rattus norvegicus). The country was, at the time, in a dire state of poverty. The economy had collapsed, and already millions of people were without income or a means to provide food and shelter for their families. However, once the rat population boomed, a massive food shortage occurred. The pests had gone through most of the crops and stored goods available at the time, and the people were left to starve. As if that weren't enough, the filthy conditions and presence of the flea-ridden rodents soon started a whole new kind of plague, similar to the Black Plague of ancient times. Hundreds of thousands of people were killed.

It became apparent that something needed to be done about the rat problem before the country could be brought back to its feet. Poison had been the first method, but the quickly reproducing rats started adapting against it, and soon chemical warfare became useless. Then came the dogs, and, much like the poison, the rats simply adapted. They could fit into small, tight places that no canine could ever hope to fit into to. In an act of desperation, the people tued to a small time genetic engineer named Phillip Daukur.

Daukur received the funding he needed for a mystery project, and announced that he would have the solution within five years. Holding true to his word, half a decade passed and the solution was unveiled; genetic splices called EvoFerrets. The first EvoFerrets, Gen 1 (F0), were about twice the size of an average ferret, but still able to fit into the small spaces that rats managed to hide in. With increased intelligence and an ability to adapt and lea, the EvoFerrets proved to be an effective solution.

Since then the EvoFerret project has been spread from Germany to the rest of Europe, and continues to follow the growing rat population to the Americas, Asia, Africa, and even Australia. Due to the careful selection of preferred traits, the mutated ferrets developed into a variety of unnatural colors and pattes. In order to introduce greater intelligence as the rats adapted, a bio-genetic engineer named Paul Guardo introduced parrot genes, which resulted in Gen 2 EvoFerrets.

Many experiments since have resulted in a wide variety of EvoFerrets, and they have become popular household pets, much alike cats and dogs, to keep down on the rats. They're also fairly friendly when hand raised from hatchlings, and all have an incredible ability to lea spoken commands, or gestures. Gen 2.2 EvoFerrets (the Raven Project) are even capable of mimicking speech, making them very popular pets.

Due to the massive need for more trained EvoFerrets, and the time it takes to raise, tame, and train these creatures it has become necessary to allow civilians such as yourself to collect, raise, and breed your very own EvoFerrets to compete with the continuously growing rat population.
Again, not organized but just some random ideas floating around.

So I've been dancing between foxes and ferrets for a while, because I love both (my very first site was a fox site and I just adore ferrets) and then I realized it made a lot of sense to simply combine the two and create several breeds of ferret/fox splices! All variations will be based on different fox species (artic, fennec, grey, red, etc)!

Will post sketches eventually!
