Default upload bar script

hi all

maybe some1 can help me whit my small problem i got :S

its a little hard to explain but i will try my best to explain it :) lol

i use a cgi upload script (upload admin lite) for my mp3 player

now the big problem i got is that it doesnt show a upload bar :S so if i upload 1 of my big mix (12 mb - 40 mb ) then i cant see how far it is

i prefer to use my own upload form whit just the progress bar added to it

now i founded a simple progress bar but it doesnt seems to work eather (http://36th.dehost.org/testing)

so , if some1 can give me the solution (or a other cgi script that does the same ) then i aim verry happy :)

here are the things i want that the script can do
  • showing upload progress (upload bar )
    sending mail when completed
storing in a dir of my choise
if posseble i try to keep my form (just adding a code to the html for the bar)
    showing a complete page

this are the things i like to have , the script i use now got them all exept ... the upload bar that need to work

Greets From The crasher and Thank you for helping me
if you need to have acces to my server , then please pm me and i give you acces to it

You know, this is a great forum and all, but you probably should consult some CGI specialists in a CGI board or something, since we're all PHP geeks.

i think i goin leave it then like it is now :P whitout a upload bar

i know that it is a difference betwean php and cgi

but if i dint try it then i dont know it :P

the other problem why i dont ask a cgi specialist is simple

like you probaly know , a specialist isnt cheap , and becouse its not a needed option so i dont want to spend money on a little detail (its just a little easyer to see when the upload is ready )

thats the reason why i asked it here , it take some more time to let it works (if it was posseble ) but then i dont need to spend money (only time :P and i got plenty of time ^^ )

so , that was my explanation , if it was posseble in php (thats whit javascript ) then it dint solve the problem ( 2 mb upload ... )

so

Thank you for trying for the support :)

If you head over to the devshed forums there are plenty of people who may help you with cgi for free.

Ajof is right. You don't have to go find a CGI specialist, just anyone with experience in the field at all will do. I've learned all the PHP I know up until now without spending a penny, and the same goes with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. I use PHPBuilder.com for PHP help, and just Google if I forget something in HTML or have a problem with my CSS or JavaScript. CGI isn't as mainstream now, but I'm sure there are plenty of people out there who just like to help; you can even find some people who will teach ASP for free (although anyone with THAT much talent could EASILY sell their expertise tutorials).
