GIFs not working?

Okay, so I had about 250 images to upload and I was not in the mood to individually upload each one via the Admin CP. So using my FTP client I uploaded all of these images to their correct folders (PNGs to the PNG folder and GIFs to the GIF folder). Later I went back through and made entries for them in the prefix_filesmap table.

Now I'm trying to code a PokeDex which is going 100% according to plan excluding one thing, my GIF images do not show. Now I am not using the 'getimage' function, I am making a link via a variable $image1 I defined from the MySQL database table prefix_pokedex. Now I know that is not the problem because everything else displays fine. My PNG image works but my two GIFs are not.

So I tried variations of this filepath:
mm2plus.com/picuploads/gif/MewtwoCD.gif
http://www.mm2plus.com/picuploads/gif/MewtwoCD.gif
/picuploads/gif/MewtwoCD.gif

etc...

And none work. Finally I just entered the image url into my address bar and got this:

Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

So yeah...Anyone know why my GIFs are failing me? O.o

EDIT: My folder permissions are set to 777 just fyi (I just checked)

This is probably caused by the .htaccess file
try renaming it to something else to see if that really is the problem and then rename it back to .htaccess

Changed the name, tried to view the image, and it still does not work

EDIT: Scratch that, it does work. O.o Hm... Should I leave the htaccess with an alt name or change it back?

Have you tried uploading the images to another folder? (e.g /pokedex/gif/)

I've uploaded other gifs to other folders and they work fine (ie and to the /templates/icon/ folder)

Hm...weird...Just tried again and .htaccess does not work but .htaccessNOM does O.o Might just have to leave the NOM there, will that cause problems or should it not?

You mean renaming the .htaccess file works?
AFAIK, it shouldn't cause any problem if you're not using the alternate BB codes.

Yes, the renaming worked. And no, I do not use alternate BB codes. :3 Yay! No more issues and my PokeDex is now done X3

Thank you! (double, lol XD) I made that awhile ago and figured it could do as a Promo Adopt XD The alt version is better though:
