Is it ok to delete the previous one from the database? Or will it cause some problems with the IDs?

And another question... I don't have experience with sql in php context (and 0 php experience), sorry if this is stupid. if I were to do a query, like to count a certain species a person has, how do I do it in php context? Do I just add the query to the database, "call" it in php...?
And is there a documentation with the functions and variables? I understand your code pretty well, but I'm kinda lost around so many files x.x
